V5.27 HDD or Network issue

Hi,
I have installed v5.27 on usb pendrive, booted a spare pc with a clean empty 500gb HD. The usb boots fine and loads up Batocera, I goto network and see my ip but status is not connected.
I have checked the rj45 is properly attached and even connected over network to the share folder but still get not connected in batocera. I am trying to install on the newly wiped hd in this spare pc, is there any known issues with 5.27 or am I missing something.

ok have got a little further, now it is showing connected but I now get exit code 1 error.

Showed update available so have let it update the usb pendrive to v29.
I still cannot install to new disk, it keeps saying error check log and showing the exit code 1 error.
Can anyone advise what to try next please.

So what is written inside the error log? What does it say?

Please give us some more information about the hardware you want to install batocera on.

all that it had in the log was the one line - Exit Code 1.

I have since managed to get it working and installed on my seagate 500gb HD although I did not do anything.
I tried numerous times last night and again this morning and eventually it worked so absolutely no idea why.
