Can't use Wifi Dongle TP-Link Archer T3U

Hi all,
I bought a Wifi Dongle that works with Linux, but I can’t manage to install the drivers under batocera. I need to download a package from git, but git is not install and I can’t even install it because the only source in pacman.conf is Batocera. How can I add another source?

Hi guy,

I bought also a Wifi dongle TP-Link and i got problems with an TL-WN823N. Batocera can reconize it because my box is here in SSID parameters but when I put the password the only way to make it works is only with a shutdown (cold reset). I get an IP . If I do a warm reset the connection disappear … like that :

Reading comprehension failure.

The instructions are: “If your network/Wi-Fi device complains about requiring certain binary firmware files (check with dmesg via terminal), you can put them into /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/ and run batocera-save-overlay after confirming it works.”

Everything else is showing how to get diagnostic information. That is, finding out whether or not your card is even requesting drivers in the first place.

I discovered your problem stupidly while browsing the forum.

So for information, because I have exactly the same wifi dongle:

he has problems with incompatibility with windows since xp pro sp3 or W10, this dongle refused to connect overnight with me.
And this problem is recurrent with this dongle, given the number of posts found on google at the time (which you can still find today).
So the problem does not come from batocera, but from windows;) (I did not know batocera yet)

I even wonder if I hadn’t found the info that said that this t-link device was no longer included in the hardware accounts of windows because it was too old (+-1997 this receiver came out)
