8BitDo Connecting Issue

Hello! I am running the latest version of Batocera on a 256GB stick and I just bought an 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ controller. I can’t seem to get it to pair in Android, Switch or Mac mode. I have only been able to get it to pair twice in Windows mode and that’s after booting my laptop as normal, connecting it via Bluetooth to Windows ten, then rebooting off the USB stick. It connects almost straight away, and I don’t need to configure it. But if I turn the controller off then it goes back to being unable to connect. Has anyone had problems with this?

what kind of bluetooth device do you use? internal bluetooth of your notebook or a dedicated bluetooth usb dongle?
i have no issues with my 8bitDo SN30 Pro+ controller with pairing over bluetooth.
does your controller have the newest firmware?

joinski I use the internal Bluetooth of the notebook. I’ve managed to get it to connect and so I haven’t touched it. But I plan to test it more so I will let you know what happens

okay, i heard from some people that for 8bitdo controllers it is best, to use one of their bluetooth adapters (best compatability), but i would also try a dedicated usb bluetooth dongle, if you have one laying around.

@DrummerDK Please check my post at https://forum.batocera.org/d/5096-bluetooth-not-searching-on-bootcausing-delays/7. Even though this post is in the Odroid-N2 area, it might be the same on the x86 platform.
One important thing I learned during my test, is to make sure, that if you paired the controller once and change the mode, you have to unpair the controller.
But be aware that when using the “unpair all” button, also the Bluetooth device apparently gets disconnected and you need to reboot Batocera (or activate it manually if you know how to do it from the linux shell).
And maybe you need to unpair it on Windows before you can use it in Batocera, but I am not aware of the inner workings of Bluetooth pairing when the devices are used in Windows and Linux in parallel.
