Can't load Batocera on ASUS EEE PC 1005PE

I got an old asus eee pc(ATOM N450 @1.66 ghz, 2G ram), and I want to made it a batocera device.

So I took out its HDD(250G Seagate HDD), connected it with USB to my win 10 laptop and flash the batocera-29-x86-20201203.img with balenaEtcher. NO ERROR shows during the process. Then I put it back.

When I turn on the mechine….

First I got this, seems everything goes well…
Then….something must goes wrong….
And then…ONLY A BLACK SCREEN WITH A CURSOR…..

I waited for about 15 mins….and still nothing but a cursor… then I shut down and turn on the mechine again, after picture on step 2, I only got a black screen not even cursor😂

What should I do guys?

Intel ATOMs are one of the shittiest CPUs ever.
Try with an older version of batocera… for example 5.25

Seems even 5.19 couldn’t run on this device, but I saw some video on youtube batocera can even run on Atom n270

i had same problem on asus EEE PC 900HA. I hope for a fix because i don’t like to use old version of batocera (5.26 ver works, after this version no).

your better off running windows xp on this system as Batocera when working will only run good all 8-bit systems and some 16-bit like snes megadrive/genesis run good in my tests ps1 ran bad
under windows xp using the modded gma graphics driver you will be able to run ps1 and some other emulators much better using stand alone emulators and not something like retro arch

and depending on settings you can also run pc games too like
dead to rights
quake 3
max payne

and any game from the 90’s that can run under xp will play fine

also the netbook is great for playing any dos games
