RPCS3 splits Screen

Hello there. I have problems with the graphics on rpcs3. The screen is splitted horizoontally in the middle, the lower half is just green, the upper half is also splitted vertically, displaying twice the game screen.
Is it just a settings issue or do i need another graphics card?

For me it is an Settings Problem. I had simular Problems in a few Games. Just Google “Rpcs3 and the Name of the Game”. In the best Case there is a Rpcs3 Wiki Page with the best Settings… But they are a bit old. Just type the same thing in Google and if you are lucky you get a complete Tutorial Video specific for your Game. Take the newest because, the Emulator has changed a lot over the years. Then Press F1 in Batocera. Open Rpcs3 and make a per Game Setting. For me, most of the Games need different Settings. I ve tested every Game individual. The next thing is that you have to keep every Game up to date with individual Patches. Which Game are you trying to play and what are your Pc Specifications?

My PC specifications are a i5 - 4590 4× 3.3GHz, 24 GB RAM, Intel HD 4600 graphics up to 1024MB and Batocera V29.
The game i try is Uncharted 3.

i guess this Intel iGPU is way too underpowered for ps3 emulation.

The Splittscreen in Uncharted 3 could be solved in the Rpcs3 Settings… But Joinski is Right. Your Intel Gpu is way to underpowered. I am running the most Ps3 Games with a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 Gigs of Ram and a Geforce 2060 in 1080p… A Friend of mine has a Ryzen 5 1600 and a Geforce 1650…and he can run a lot of Games in the Standart Resolution of Rpcs3… With a lot tweaking in the Settings per Game. I think this might be the line to “playable”. If you realy want to try it, try at first Street Fighter 4. This is as low as you can get. If your Pc is not running this Game in Fullspeed, I think no Ps3 Game will run. I hope this helps.

I have a HD 7850 with 1GB DDR5 RAM what i installed in the pc, but after the bootscreen (batocera-logo) the screen stays black. So i can’t test the emulator with that graphics card.

So, i tried to boot a clean v26 and v29 from USB Stick with the same result. Boot screen is shown, after that, it’s dark. but what i saw, is that the resolution of my tv turns to 4k with just 30Hz then and then the screen stays black. Can i set the resolution to 1920×1080 fix?

So i tried 30 beta, with the same result, after the first boot screen everything is black. I also changed the graphics card, i installed a HD6470 instead, with exatly the same result. In PC BIOS i activated the PCi-e Card as the main one, deactivated onbard graphics. 🤔🤔🤔

I have the same issue with an Intel Chipset. Some Chipsets and 4 k tvs have Issues working together. I connected the System which was not working on a 4k tv with an 1080p tv and it worked. I ve read in the Wiki how to force the System always to start in 1080p. I will give it at try. It is not a specific Radeon Problem.

Thank you, i tried all the possible solutions. After i tried the xrandr method and after editing the S31emulationstation file, there still was nothing displayed, also the machine was not pingable or reachable by SSH.So both i had to set back to defaults.

Have you ever put your System on an 1080p Tv?

Yes, i have a picture now. But thats not satisfying, with the Intel HD Chipset i can play on the big 65′' screen ☹

Maybe this is your Solution. I will try that tomorrow….
To force 1080 in those cases, edit batocera.conf and add a line:

system.es.maxresolution=1920×1080
This shouldn’t be necessary for most TVs, though, and the default mode can be set back with es.maxresolution=0 (or just comment out or remove the line in batocera.conf).

I tried this method, too. But without success. So it’s the TV/graphics card combination that’s not compatible. With the Onboard graphics Batocera works fine, but the RPCS3 won’t work. Withe the Radeon graphics RPCS3 ist possible, but there’s nothing to see 😖
