"Parental controls"

Hi everyone,

I would like to set up some kind of basic parental controls on Batocera. My children have access to the Batocera PC in their room and, basically, I want them to have to come to me to start Batocera. I run Batocera v29 standard on an old 2009 PC (boot with Batocera USB, but the data is on a Hard Drive).

The easy way is to set a BIOS password. I didn’t test it yet, but I suppose it would protect access to a boot via USB too.

BUT here’s the catch : I want my kids to have access to Kodi anytime they want. So I can "“start with Kodi” but nothing will then prevent them from going back to Batocera.

I don’t think that this kind of basic access control is built in Batocera, but would there be any trick I could try to restrict access to the game library?

You could just use another usb thumb drive with Libreelec installed on it and give it to your kids, when they want to use Kodi.

Thanks joinski, easy and to the point. Physical access to usb ports is kind of difficult with the current setup, so I didn’t even consider that. But I’ll make it work, because it’s obviously the best solution.
