Will storing my roms on an SSD increase any performance on the more difficult systems to emulate such as dreamcast and n64? I'm out of space and debating on whether I should just buy a bigger thumb drive or upgrade to an SSD. I recently upgraded my desktop to SSD and it made an incredible difference in performance.
I tried a ssd on a sata to usb 3.0 adapter on android emulators firstly then batocera and noticed a read delay freeze every so many seconds on roms for psx and psp, only a split second pause but noticible. I tried a usb 3.0 flash drive and the delay has gone.
Did the 3.0 flash drive make much of a difference over a 2.0 drive?
