Batocera not recognizing my hdd 2tb external drive

hi, i just bought a 2tb external drive to retrogaming, i try to install Batocera but when i did, it only recognize 256 MB. and i could not add nothing, can someone help me pls?

(sorry if i misspelled something, i’m chilean)

There is a known issue with drives of 2TB and larger, If i remember correctly you can re-format it in advanced -> developer -> format disk. Make sure you format only the disk with batocera and not any other disks, so that you do not accidentally lose any data that is on the computers internal harddrive.

I think the newest beta also has fixed this issue. Maybe safest thing is to burn the newest beta and then downgrade to stable?

Another way is if you are familiar with linux is to use a tool like gparted to expand the drive (share) to use the whole drive.

For best compatibility I would go for EXT4, you cant access the SHARE partition directly from windows then but you can transfer your roms via LAN. If you need to access the roms folders directly from windows I would go with BTRFS, you need to install a driver to access it but it works with Windows.

if you plug in the drive, where you installed batocera on, into another pc, there is a boot partition called BATOCERA and on it, there is a folder called tools, and within this folder, there is the windows-driver for BTRFS

I finally manage to make it work, i downloaded the latest beta of Batocera and install it on the hdd and it recognize all of it capacity!
