I want to set up Batocera on an old Gateway pc for playing NES and SNES (and, if possible, PS). I was picking up a screen for another project I have and, while I was there, saw that the seller had an old Gateway pc lying around, which I decided to get. I believe this is the pc—Gateway GT5448E - MT - Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86 GHz - 2 GB - 320 GB Specs (except the HD is 1 TB, not 320 GB). Will this pc work for Batocera?
The pc had Windows XP installed, but I replaced it with Linux Mint (Mint keeps freezing, but I figure I won’t be using much. Just wonder it might be a sign of a driver issue?). I flashed Batocera X86 5.30 on a USB, but it didn’t boot; just went straight to Mint. I then tried with v 5.19 but get a “This is not a bootable disk” message upon boot. The pc is not connected to the internet. I thought about enabling intel-965 drivers as suggested in this post, but I cannot find the batocera-boot.conf file. Version 5.19 only has a file named recalbox-boot.conf with three lines.
Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for any help.
