It’s a really good thing you asked me to do the screenshots. Teaching helps a person remember. I’ll edit my post because that other way is the… recently newer slightly easier way (lol) that requires some more commands, here’s how to correctly do it the super easy newest way only found here thanks to yours truly… but you do need to update a few things on the Raspberry OS.
All of this will be done in Raspberry OS on your SD card.
- In a terminal: sudo apt-update
- sudo apt full-upgrade
- sudo reboot
- sudo rpi-eeprom-update -a
- sudo reboot
- Once 1-5 are done, all you ever have to do to change boot order is this from now on: sudo raspi-config
- Follow these prompts:
Welcome to the raspi-config screen. Go into Advanced Options
It’s kinda like a BIOS. Select Boot Order
Choose USB Boot
This is the confirmation, if you see something else go back and do it again
We’re gonna click finish now!
Let it do the reboot, else you may need to run it again.
Anytime you want to change your boot config, just run sudo raspi-config from this point forward.
