Same hardware problem

I boot betocera from 2 devices, a usb stick and a External SSD….the usb stick is flawless, but the SSD not so much. It frequently hangs/freezes/..I’m stumped…same hard….checked the SSD..no problems…help please..

Wow…6 days and NO suggestions! I love Batocera, but these hard drive hangs are a deal killer….

Yes because your USB and SSD have same name on PARTITION “BATOCERA” rename your SSD partition in “MYBATOCERA” for example and now you can boot.

but if i understand you correctly, you only have issues when booting from the ssd (hangs/freezes)? then there must be something wrong with your SSD, SATA-Port or SATA-cable i guess.

try with another SATA-Cable, then another SATA-Port and then put this SSD into another PC to check if you have the same problems there (and/or use another SSD in your current PC)

joinski The USB stick in not connected to my unit, so this can’t be the problem. I’ve checked the SSD several times with various programs, and they all tell me it’s good. Don’t have a spare one lying around, but given no problems are detected, I’m assuming the SSD is ok. BTW thank you for your responses

If I were you, I would still try a different SATA cable, a different SSD (or try with a usb thumb drive, if you have one laying around) and also test with another machine (PC/notebook).

Just to rule out the error and find the cause.

Ideally that would be the way to go, but fixed income here..sigh…will have to make due with the stick I guess.
