Since first making a Windows XP based arcade machine probably more than 10 years ago, I’ve recently decided to upgrade the hardware and software to something more current. In actuality, I began this process over a year ago, but it has been nothing but a constant frustration, as I’ve tried probably every current front end option, only to keep running into roadblocks of limitations or mere difficulty in getting things working. Only yesterday though, did I finally discover Batocera. Compared to every Windows based option that I’ve tried, this has by far been the simplest and most efficient solution so far. I’ve managed to successfully setup all desired systems and roms, even with all associated artwork. Where I am stuck though is trying to work out how to map custom keys to MAME. Using my arcade controls via an IPAC, I’ve successfully configured my joystick and buttons to navigate the front end, but I can’t for the life of me work out how to make any changes to the emulator’s button mapping. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and would take me almost to the end of having this arcade machine FINALLY finished.
Thank you
