Hi, I’m running the latest stable Batocera on my Odroid Go Advance. I discovered that the cheat engine is not working, and was hoping to find out if this is known, or where to report it?
It started that I tried to create a quick cheat in a GBA game, and discovered that I could not begin a cheat search.
Choosing “Start or Restart Cheat Search” for any bit size, nothing happens.
Because the cheat search doesn’t start, any of the value searches error with “Searching has not been initialized/Started”.
I moved to retroarch stable on OSX, and was able to create a cheat for the game in question. Cheat search worked properly. I was able to create a simple set-memory-to-value cheat. I saved this to a .cht file, and copied it back onto the OGA.
I can load the .cht file in the retroarch UI, and all settings are correct, and I can enable the cheat in the UI.
However, the effects of the cheat are not applied in-game.
I then tried using the “built-in” cheats (ie: downloaded via the UI) and I discovered that they do not work either.
- Retroarch on OSX is build-date Jul 04/21 using mGBA 1.9.6
- Retroarch on Batocera/OGA is build-date Feb 24/21 using mGBA 1.9.0
is this known, that the cheat engine is broken?
