Batocera won't boot up

I did everything correctly and double checked everything but when i try to boot to the usb drive the system ignores the usb the proceeds to boot to windows i forced the system to boot to the usb and now it only shows the blinking underscore this is starting to give me q headache already

I tried to use a usb with windows 7 installer and it booted no problem but with batocera installed in the usb the system just refuses to boot from the usb, i tried plop boot manager but didn’t work either.

Never mind i just had to use a different usb drive and it finally worked

YrviN - For instance - marking this: “I just used a different USB drive” as the solution provides no solid answer. It is like saying “I tried a bunch of stuff and something worked.” I am just offering one of many solutions. :)

I want to answer this as best as I can.. You should create a Batocera USB using an operating system that reads GPT partitions. Such as WIndows 10 using GPT. This boot issue is a UEFI - GPT issue. Thus Windows 7 or Windows 8 may not work. Also, any installs using MBR style format may NOT work. Try installing or etching using Windows 10 with GPT or from Linux. Short Answer = Use Windows 10. :) (Also you can Check partitions -> Use Gparted) –Welcome–

Please read the thread. There is no solid answer to “Why Batocera won’t boot”. I know that your experience may slightly contradict this, but the thread is: “Batocera won’t boot”

Telling people that it worked for me and so it should work for you is not necessarily helpful.

I got the advice to usel att different usb port and it helped me. My problem now is that Batocera boots in slowmotion every time and shuts down in the middle of än operation. I have shared romska and bios but the system or games don’t appear after I uppdated..Maybe its my cheap 2tb usb flashdrive.

Is it possible to run Batocera on a smaller usb 32-64gb and have all games on another external drive? So many questions 😅
