system: installer script : recalbox-install.sh

Hello,

maybe it is a dumb question, but I tried to install batocera.linux to my local disc. I booted the device (Intel-Z83II-Box) by USB. After the boot I acces to the box via ssh.

I changed to directory "/recalbox/scripts/". Their I run "./recalbox-install.sh install /dev/mmcblk0 x86_64"
and get the following output:

./recalbox-install.sh install /dev/mmcblk0 x86_64
url: https://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/x86_64/stable/last/batocera-20170623.img.gz

What does this script do?? Or, where is my mistake??

it would be nice if someone could help me :-)

I've always just plugged the drive I want Batocera on, into a PC(through enclosure, docking station, or into sata port inside pc) then format it with SDFormatter then write to it like you would to USB or SD.

Yes, with an removable device it is an alterternative, but if its nand soldered on the board you cant remove it. And the Z83-II Box is a tiny box like an Android-TV-Box... So I hope to install it via script to nand. But that script does not work...

@FoxBob79 with this script, you can install any version of batocera (x86, x86_64, rpi, odroid) on your hd, your sd card or a usb key.
it doesn't work because i've updated yesterday x86_64 and then, batocera-20170623.img.gz path is no more valid
can you retry please, it should work now.

download the file and install it on your device.

Thanks!! First I thought it would work :-) But after a restart i have to see that theire is only one new partion on mmcblk0.

But I think theire must be a second partion like on sda (the usb-stick). I will have a look of whats going wrong...

the 2nd partition is created automatically on first boot.
however, i think i know what happen.
batocera doesn't support to have 2 partitions named RECALBOX.
because as it is configured, grub search the first recalbox partition to be used to boot on.
when you have 2 RECALBOX partitions, even if you boot on the sdcard, the grub programm on the sdcard will search RECALBOX partitions, eventually found the one on sda before the one on the sdcard.
The problem is that i don't know to tell to grub to take the partition on the same support as it it installed.
