I've been able to get the overlay to save correctly using these commands

PATH=$PATH:/sbin
/recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh 100

I've restarted and the file is really there but the intro video still doesn't work.

What to do now?

probably not the correct format.
you shoudl tryn to play it as the /etc/init.d/S02splash script does without needing to reboot.

The splashscreen I'm using works on Recalbox... have the code changed?

i don't think so.
but if you run via ssh, at least, you'll get the error message.

nadenislamarre I can change the "logo-version.png" for a custom image and it works. Only when I change the MP4 file it doesn't play. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

is there a way to tell the system to read the .mp4 file instead of the png image?

How can I disable the startup video from Batocera? I'ts too loud in my monitor compared to the system sounds itself.

Is anything happening whilst the splash video appears? I know that the second splash screen is EmulationStation loading, but the first video (assuming nothing's being loaded in the background) just serves to slow down the boot up time.

My main concern about the video is that my monitor's volume level resets every time it's powered off (for some reason) so the video always ends up playing incredibly loudly.
