If you use Notepad to edit that file it will corrupt it and Batocera will not boot.
I don’t know how he managed to do that (unless he didn’t actually do what he did in the video).

Sebby Interesting, noted. We recently had a case of another user trying to activate their drivers and found that they were using Notepad to edit the file. When editing it with Notepad++, the issue was solved.
I tested with Notepad, and it does also work with it.
Maybe other users were mixing up Notepad with Wordpad. Because with Wordpad it definitely does not work.

That’s strange, because I’ve found the opposite to be true. Notepad always corrupts the file, Wordpad remembers the encoding it used. Hm, maybe it’s best just to recommend users to use neither.
yes…. it seems that Notepad does not work reliably. So it would be best to recommend to use only Notepad++
