Hi all!! I'am wondering if its possible change the default driver of gpio gamepad, to put one with virtual keybord. Or some way to make ONE gamepad with 10 buttons and 4 directions.

@alesrosso hi! I'm using GPIO controller on my pizero.. 8 buttons (select, start, A,B,X,Y,LT,RT). I use default GPIO controller driver .

alesrosso hi! If you need more buttons you can use ps2 or psx controller connected to GPIO using this guide, or an arcade joystick connected by usb

I use it for connecting original nes controllers and it works on recalbox, but not in Batocera. Maybe with psx controller you have more luck.. @nadenislamarre knows the problem (it seems to be gamecon driver problem), and it is working for a fix.. ps Are you Italian?

Thanks again!! but the propose of needing 10 buttos is, because I want to do a protable box with all inther, to connect to tv and play, without aditional controlers usb. I need to remap gpio pins to du just ONE big controller, and Batocera recognize 2 controllers... I think there is a way, but I dont Know how!!

alesrosso I suggest you to buy the box, arcade stick and buttons, and an adapter.. it costs about
10 euro and you can connect the stick and 12 buttons via USB. It is recognized by batocera without problem (I have one,too)

You can find on eBay, too.

You can insert all in the box, no need USB out, just insert this board and the raspberry in the same box, connect by USB and leave only hdmi and power supply out.. I know that is USB and not GPIO, but for your project it is the best choice in my opinion. I suggest you to leave also sd card out by an adapter, if you want. Hi!
There is also the possibility to manually Map the GPIO pins for more buttons, but in this case I can't help you!

Really thanks for all your help!! your idea is great, but is really difficult get this devices in my country!! so I do the same thing with pc gamepad. But it will be great if someone tells me how to map GPIO pins to do it!!

You now somebody or some page, forum that can help me?
