rpi4 8gb no sound after 32 update

Any fixes or just do we have to wait for a new version?

of course no sound at all. I wish other rpi4 people that have the update would chime in, or is it just me?

i have sound on my rpi4 and others too.

you could try with a factory reset (see wiki https://wiki.batocera.org/troubleshooting#factory_reset) or fresh new install of 32

but there is another issue at the moment, see https://github.com/batocera-linux/batocera.linux/issues/4680

Edit: false alarm! it was my faulty sd-card which caused the instability issue

@digiwolf but regarding your sound issue: are you sure you tried all different audio outputs and audio profiles? you have hooked up your RPi4 directly to your TV via HDMI and you want to get audio via HDMI from your TV, right?

Correct none of them work, I did a fresh install of 32 and still no sound. I installed version 31 and I have sound again.

could you give some more information?

where do you expect to get sound? via 3.5mm audio jack or via hdmi from your TV?

what do you see under System Settings, Audio Output and Audio Profile? Could you send some screenshots, which output and profile-options you have there?

Yep no sound for me either,changed audio output in settings to one of the hdmi options and now works but have to do it on every reboot,also psx emulation now sucks too

Using HDMI as well, and I tried all the sound options but I get no sound at all.

but both worked with audio output set at vc4-HDMI-1Digital Stereo, and Audio profile at Vc4-HDMI-0PRO Audio

I see others have responded already however, I thought I’d share my experience with v32 on Rpi4. I had this issue immediately after the upgrade. But Like @joinski suggested changing the audio profiles worked for me. I’m on v32 on Rpi4 4gb model.

Hello,

On my side, no sound also.
The sound output is setup from an hifiberry-dacplus.
I’ve load the overlay from the config.txt, but not sure if it really load.
When I switch to HDMI sound ouptut, sound is ok.
Of course, everything was ok on v.31.
Also, I try a new fresh setup with a second SD Card.

The problem is that is not working when the sound output in link via the hifiberry-dacplus.
I’ve got a setup with an arcard box, and the amplifier is link on this setup via the hifiberry, not the hdmi.

I don’t know if it’s related, but a dmesg from ssh connection show some error about sound:

same here. v32 won’t produce sound via cdmi on rpi4

Guys. I fixed the problem by selecting VC4-hdmi-0ditigal stereo (IEC958) in BOTH audio OUTPUT and audio PROFILE. I suppose it requires using HDMI port 0 (closer to the power port). Not sure why auto setting won’t work like in V31, but at least now sound goes to my TV via HDMI normally.
