This has been happening since I enabled the Nvidia drivers. For some emulators, it will only freeze sometimes and for others, it will most certainly freeze. I’m able to access the PC via SSH, but rebooting proves to be hard to do as the terminal either locks up or just refuses to do anything, forcing me to manually restart the laptop. Restarting EmulationStation causes it to close without restarting, and using the command to start it makes it open with glitched graphics that appear for a moment, no games will start. None of this happens when I use the default Intel MESA drivers. Much googling has been done and I haven’t found anyone else suffering from similar problems.
I’m running it on an MSI laptop with a dead hard drive that I decided I should repurpose for now until I get it replaced with an SSD someday. I had to do some hacky solution, but I have it all running off of two flash drives (one for the OS and another for game storage,) which may or may not be the cause of the problem. I sure hope it isn’t.
