-Dos games run way slower compared to previous build
-Psx games: There’s no longer Libretro/PCSX Rearmed
-N64 games: There’s no longer Libretro/Mupen64Plus-nex.
Why those were removed? they had the best performance!

-This one is hard to explain: Sometimes when executing a game and opening retroarch menu, there’s a glitch like if you quited retroarch and go back to navigation system, only that the game is still running in front, but what you are controling (without seeing it) and hearing is the main interface, you can navigate through systems while your hear their attrack videos.
Only solution is to restart the system, happened to me 5 or 6 times in 1 hour testing.

-I don’t know if it’s intended but “Game Options” (inside view options, next to “Advanced System options”) is no longer there. That was good when you wanted to set an spicific configuration per game..

One more thing, not a big deal but it’s just a little bit annoying. Wifi turns randomly ON when restarting the system. I keep turning it off to save a little bit of battery.

Besides that, I saw that sound interface is fixed. And DS games are playable now!

ElBatallitas PCSX-ReARMed has a very poor performance on 64-bit compared to its 32-bit counterpart, and Batocera has more or less moved onto 64-bit from this point going forward. I’m assuming here, but maybe it was disabled on the Odroid due to extremely low performance?

I don’t know why mupen64plus-next isn’t on the Odroid anymore, are you sure you aren’t using a custom system that might be hiding it?

Game options is now accessed by holding down the south button while highlighting a game (this change was made in v31, not v32).

Im using RGB10 Max. Was also a little disappointed the pcsx rearmed core was removed but in all honesty just use the duckstation core,you have more option and it runs great.

N64 I have issue as well. Only 1 of them emu’s work for me now and roms must be unzipped for them to work.

mupen64plus-next might not be showing for ElBatallitas but I can assure you on my RGB10 Max,I have a choice of these 3 for N64:

Libretro/Mupen64Plus-Next

Mupen64Plus/Glide64MK2

Mupen64Plus/Glide64

But…Only Mupen64Plus/Glide64MK2 works for me now and even then roms must be unzipped.

Maybe Libretro/PCSX Rearmed has better performance for the specific game I was playing. Anyway why removing cores at all, not only you may lose your save state but also some games work better

ElBatallitas I agree with this sentiment and dislike Batocera removing cores from functioning devices for this very reason. With that said, if you want to maintain save states, you should probably stick with a single version, as save states can also break from using a newer version of the emulator (most emulators are bumped with every major release of Batocera).

Also due to fonzi’s research I can more confidently say that you’re most likely using a custom es system file. Try removing /userdata/system/configs/emulationstation/es_system.cfg.

I’d like to stick to a version but for every improvement there’s a downside…
That’s why I’m here. I’m not even asking for something better, but for the best of what we already had :)

I don’t think there is a best for everything, as already mentioned, stick to one version if it works for you.

Upgrading to a newer version may improve in some areas but will also likely to break in other areas.

For me right now V32 build seems to be the one to keep as it resovles audio stuttering issues found in V31. I will not update further until I find a showstopper that breaks my gaming experience. And also game saves that aren’t compatible with new emulator builds can be a deal breaker to updating.

While we stick to a version, we can provide feedback and hopefully help next release to be better.

Does anyone know the reason for the shift to 64 bit? Seems like several emulators aren’t optimized for it, so I wonder why the decision was made to go away from 32 bit.
