Configure Roms foder path on external drive

Hi all, I have a question related to how batocera looks for roms. I have an external drive with roms that I am using also other other purposes, under the /roms folder of that drive. I told batocera to use that drive as an external drive, and he created a /batocera/roms folder (+ all the other folders like bios, …). I don’t want to move my roms folder inside the batocera one, because I am using it also for something else.

Is there a config where I can specify that the ROMS folder should be taken from /roms of that drive, instead of /batocera/roms?

I think you can do that with the external NAS config, but I didn’t saw the same for the external drive.

macche 1. you should probably move your ROMs to that new batocera/ folder as Batocera uses a unique ROM directory tree which is probably not identical to your “other purposes”.

You can just symlink the batocera/ folder to the destination you want it to go to (or better yet, just symlink only the roms/ folder).

Alternatively, you can tell Batocera which folder to use manually if you specify it via a network share using the advanced CIF mounting procedure here: https://wiki.batocera.org/store_games_on_a_nas#samba_windows_manually_mounted_shares
As in, you literally just tell it sharenetwork_cmd1=whatever command you use to mount a drive to a place, this can be literally any command

I am trying to not move the roms inside batocera dir, so I was looking for a solution where I can specify which specific dir to mount.

So you are saying that I can do something like this to create the symlink?

sharedevice=NETWORK

sharenetwork_cmd1=ln -s /mnt/extdrive/roms batocera/roms

macche maybe i should have specified option 2 and the last alternative were separate ideas. You can either choose to use symlinks or tell the network share command to mount your drive there.
