PI400 V32 Shanwan Wireless Controller Stopped Working

Hoping some can help:

Have been using my PI400 with build 32 and a Shanwan Wireless Controller since its release. All working great.

I moved my ROMS to an external USB hard drive and since then my controller will no longer connect wirelessly.

Plugged into a USB cable works fine although the mapping does not seem quite correct.

I did a clean install of V32 to an SD card no roms and my controller connected wirelessly. I removed Batocera folder from the HD so as to to do a fresh install. Then I setup my SD card to point to the HD for roms using ‘Any External’ option. Rebooted and my controller will no longer connect wirelessly.

I have followed the steps for controller issues such as turning wifi off but this makes no difference.

Any ideas why?

Does the external HDD have an auxiliary power supply?

If you connect an external HDD, wifi may not work due to voltage drop.

mikakunin Thank you. Works without the HDD plugged in. Time to purchase a powered HDD.
