Issue with 32 and 33 Beta

Hello everybody!

I never had this issue on my previous boxes, but in this one

I am seeing this more often than not

The problem is not the flicker itself, is that once you see this effect, you can navigate the menus but:

-When trying to start any game, Batocera freezes

-When you try to shut down the box, goes to black screen but it is still on

Tried to look for similar cases but found nothing. Any hints?

Happens in both Stable 32 and Beta 33 (updated from within the system)

No logs, no hardware info, nothing to work with here.

Update:
I have found out that the issue is with the audio devices. The motherboard has Intel HD audio and DSP Device, but even disabling this one does not solve it.

Batocera sometimes detects properly Digital Stereo HDMI (then everything works)

and the profiles then look like this

But when it does not, you see a mix with Alsa

Any help very much appreciated.

Basically, even if I select HDMI audio out in Kodi and system settings, it keeps switching.

What logs would be needed? Thank you

logs like the dmesg file you get from the support file, they can reveal what’s going on under the hood. You’ve identified that it sometimes works completely fine, could this be a hardware issue?
Have you tried reflashing Batocera? Maybe there’s a loose config file that’s messing it up.

I have reflashed Batocera several times, the last three times were:

-Manually downgraded to 31, issue still happened although not as frequently

-Upgraded to 32, then to 33 Beta

I will install 32 again today and gather the logs

upgrading is not the same as flashing.
Flashing means following the steps you did to install Batocera in the first place.
