Batocera on Raspberry Pi 2 Model B general questions

Hi all. I’ve been really enjoying using Batocera on a pc for the past year and have learned a lot! I remembered that I have an old RPi2 Model B sitting around and see that there is a build for it.

My question I guess is, is it worth it? What kind of expectations should I have for systems and performance? Can it run the same themes as the PC version?

Does this build also include KODI?

I’d need to pick up a new card for it so I’d like to set my expectations before I spend any money. 😀

It can make for a pretty small and cute mini-console! But don’t expect to be emulating anything beyond the 4th gen well. It’s a very weak CPU.

Atari I decided to give it a go yesterday and it turned out pretty good. I did try a PS1 game (Mr Driller) and a couple of N64 games just for kicks. They are playable but hardly optimal. 😀

Scraping took forever for only ~300 games, even over Ethernet, but once done it was cool.

Either I’m smarter now or things are just that much easier I don’t know, but I bought this back in 2015 and setup RetroPie on it but was pretty nonplussed by the experience I couldn’t figure out scraping for the life of me. I can’t remember any more. Now it was like click click click, copy roms over network, scrape, set up themes, boom, done

I’m not even sure what I will do with this now. 😀

Atari Every time I try to set something like that up for someone they find a way to bigger it up. Then they let it sit and never say anything unless I ask. 😀

Im been very impressed by thr pi2b capabilities. Uve managed to run N64, PSP and PS1. I even tried Nintendo DS for laughs and it ran smoothly.

Only the N64 had some frame rate concerns but it was negligible.

Ive yet to try xbox. As its next on my list.
