Atari Thank you so much for replying!
I added the semi-colons to my script, but it’s still not working.
I’m wondering if my custom.sh script is getting called when Batocera boots up?
Here’s some of my observations and things that I’ve tried. Note, that I’m pretty new to this and don’t know all the ins-and-outs…
With the help of the WIKI, I’m able to run my VPN, and confirm that it’s working.
https://wiki.batocera.org/vpn_client
This only works enter the command within /userdata/system/openvpn
openvpn /userdata/system/openvpn/ipvanish-US-Seattle-sea-a09.ovpn
I’ve tried running the same command from /userdata/system and it doesn’t work.
I’ve created custom.sh within userdata/system:
#!/bin/bash
case "$1" in
start)
openvpn /userdata/system/openvpn/ipvanish-US-Seattle-sea-a09.ovpn &
;;
esac
I don’t really know how to test that custom.sh is working other than rebooting and using the command:
curl ipinfo.io
I’ve tried running custom.sh by using the following commands from within /userdata/system/
chmod +x custom.sh
sh custom.sh
bash custom.sh
./custom.sh
None of these seem to work.
I’ve also tried using different paths on my custom.sh script:
openvpn /openvpn/ipvanish-US-Seattle-sea-a09.ovpn &
openvpn ./ipvanish-US-Seattle-sea-a09.ovpn &
I don’t know what else to try, and am wondering if it is actually possible to get this to work?
I’m hoping that someone can post a working custom.sh that I can copy from, or help walk me through.
Thanks again for the reply!
