@Pjinbolton @pdapice ,
I was thinking about why the monitors would stop working after an upgrade and it occured to me that maybe some permission involved in displaying the marquee was changed? If so, it may be as simple as using chmod to reallow the processes to run properly.
I was able to get my marquee working on 2-PC’s using v35. one using Batocera and the other using Lubuntu Linux(might even change this to something more lightweight.) I’m using a small program called pqiv(powerful quick image viewer) to display the pics. I converted all my marquee’s from .png to .jpg to make the files smaller. I’m trying to figure out how I can load the entire Marquee Directory at once and just display images that are preloaded. I couldn’t get FBV to work right, and I tried FBI(frame buffer imager), but that caused a lot of permission issues involving /dev/fb0 and /dev/tty2. Anyway, pqiv works fine, but it is a little slower to respond than I’d like. Any tips for speeding up the display? I’m working wirelessly for the moment, so I will hardwire the 2 computers, but I don’t think that will speed it up noticeably.
