Meguinness On Windows10….trying to flash v32 to sd card for my tvbox with Balenaetcher….but getting flashing failed errors. the only version of batocera that it seams to flash with no problems is a old version …. batocera-5.24-s905-20191124.img , any version after this is a fail. Are you having similar problems ? thanx
RetroFuture Have you tried Rufus as an alternative to Balena Etcher? No reason to believe it would work if Etcher doesn’t, but it will literally cost nothing but the tiny Rufus download to find out. Alternatively could you try a different USB stick?
MoneyMal I’m having the same flashing failed issue with v33, no problems flashing v32. I’ve tried Balena Etcher, Rufus and different flash drives but no luck so far.
SRGilbert This is a dumb question, but have you actually TRIED the install after Belanaetcher says it failed? The past two or three times I’ve used it the same thing happened to me, but it always works fine. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that it’s creating partitions that windows can’t read so it unmounts it before the verification is done.
Atari SRGilbert We recommend Balena Etcher as its verification process takes Windows’ limitations into account. If this verification fails, then there has been a fault with writing/reading the data. Use that installation at your own risk. I would recommend trying the flash with a new USB drive, flashing it using a different port, making sure the ports are clean, that there’s enough power being supplied to the computer, etc.
SRGilbert Atari That’s fair and good advice. I can only say that I personally haven’t had any issues so far that I’m aware of.
joinski I’ve been using the Raspberry Pi Imager for a while. Has worked reliably for me so far. https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/
