Pi 4 lcd + hdmi

I have a pi 4 with a ribbon connected lcd and one hdmi monitors. I was hoping that I could either mirror onto the lcd or use it for a marquee. As it stands, the lcd displays the Batocera logo (but does nothing else) so I’m assuming Batocera knows it is there. While I can find info about using a pi as a marquee driver I can’t find any info about the pi running batocera and using two displays both driven by the pi. Any pointers greatly appreciated!

Atari Thank you very much. I had read that post but understood it to be a windows box using a pi as a remote service to power the marquee, and I am only running on a pi, no windows involved, so didn’t see the need for the service. Since Batocera understands that I have an additional lcd touchscreen monitor (well at least it displays its logo on it) I thought that maybe there might be an easier way. Do you think I need to modify the given scripts for my situation?

Atari I’d prefer not to use 2 pis. Batocera, at least the OS, already recognizes the lcd because it displays its logo on it, so I don’t think it is a matter of getting it to recognize or display, its just what it is displaying :)

I’ll keep reading and see what I can find out.

Harveycg Well that’s the problem, Batocera by design only addresses a single screen. There is no multi-screen manager, I think there are kernel options flicked to optimise for single-screen display.
It’s a stupid limitation, I agree, and am planning on convincing the devs that there are enough use cases to warrant changing it. But as of right now, there’s no guaranteed way to use two screens at once with Batocera.
