My issue was somewhat two-fold:
My “mame” folder is subdivided into “mame” (“the current release romset”) and “mame2003”, which you may recall from my earlier post re: setup and AKNF scripts. It is thought that this is why my offerings via “downloads” only pulls the FBN folder, despite being pointed at the repository i manually dl’d the bezels from.
i followed directions on the TBP github as well as my own “feelings” and pasted the bezels and configs into both retroarch’s overlay folder as well as the decorations folder. i think this got everyone arguing about whose job it was to put on an overlay.
Once I pulled everything out of retroarch and left it all in the deco folder, the games load with bezel properly, but i can’t help feeling it’s not as clean as it would be. i suppose i could empty the contents of one of the mame folders into ‘arcade’, then dump the other into the main ''mame folder to see if it changes my TBP list, but it seems to work ok. it’s only like 15 games, anyway.
none of my business, but it would be nice if the TBP’s search would scan subfolders. nbd. :) thanks for your help!
