Hi guys

Been away from this for am while and I looked at the news section to find these questions but don't find it so I hope you guys can help.

1 can i install this now on a hdd from usb drive?

2 how to update to newer versions?

3 does audio work on laptops with HDMI output?

These things where the reason I held back for a while and tried lakka and I love lakka but I also really like those cool menus. And if this runs all good like lakka then my choose is batocera.

O my 4the question haha how well does this run. At least n64 and psx how do they performe?

I might be able to answer some questions (but not all)

1) I read somewhere that you could possibly install it on an internal HD from USB by first installing some linux distro on the internal drive then dd-ing the USB Boot drive onto the internal drive and rebooting. Can't personally speak to how effective or recommended this might be but could be worth a shot

2) There's an "auto update" toggle in the menus you can turn on that will notify you of updates. There's also a menu item for manually checking for updates

3) No idea

4) They should perform very well, though my testing is not exhaustive. My baseline for performance is DKC64 and Banjo Kazooie and those ran well (they ran like garbage on my oDroid XU4)

for the moment, the install is from ssh with a script :
/recalbox/scripts/recalbox-install.sh
there are 3 possible parameters listed if you run it without arguments
listDisks to list where you can install
listArchs to list what can be installed x86, rpi1, rpi2, ...
install [disk] [arch] to install arch on disk ie, you can install a rpi3 on an sdcard from an x86_64 computer (it will first download the image then burn it).
in th next release, i want to make it available from the menus.

Well the install is no problem.

But the only thing I don't get to work is the audio. Very frustrating. No audio from the speakers and no audio from the jack.

Tried different settings from the menu and also from retroarch. Any idea what I can do?

in 5.10, i've added a mixer available using ctrl+alt+f4 (back to batocera is from ctrl+alt+f2)
on some computer, playing with the mixer helps to solve the issue, but it not perfect while change are not saved.
i've not the problem on my computer, so, for the moment, i've no idea how to reproduce and fix. i hope that the mixer and the feedback will help us.
you can upgrade to pre 5.10 using the previous updated thread. or just wait the 5.10.
