pygamegirl Hi I have a laptop I wantto use for permanent installation of batocera. Is there a way i can install batocera on the hard drive of the laptop (full hard drive used) instead of booting it by using usb stick? If yes, please tell me step by step. Thx
Atari There is a step-by-step guide here: https://wiki.batocera.org/install_batocera#install_batocera_from_batocera Note: laptops can have weird limitations in their BIOS in regards to what systems they’ll let boot from their SATA ports (the “internal” drive). Make sure to check first before wiping your drive with Batocera.
joinski pygamegirl depending on the speed of the USB stick and the SSD itself (if it is a slow USB 2.0 stick for example) it would make a difference only for transferring big rom files and maybe when using systems with big rom files the loading times on ssd will be faster (but i didn’t measure the time for that).
Atari For the purposes of playing games, no. Only really sophisticated systems like ps3 might see a difference in load speed, but not anything in-game. As Joinski said.
