Display distortion problem

Hello,

I am building a small bartop and want to use the motorola atrix lapdock screen (1366×768) for it but on batocera v31 my display is all distorted and is staying like that when i update to v33 (it was working fine in v29).

The splashscreen video was distorted too until i change hdmi_mode to 39 and the hdmi_groupe to 2 in the config file, then it worked fine but only for the splashcreen, when i get to the system it goes distorted again.

Does anyone know a way to fix it?

Aren’t those Raspberry Pi settings?

Anyway, if you’re having difficulties with newer Batocera versions on old hardware, sometimes it’s just best to stick to the version of Batocera that works best. This is especially the case with laptops.

Atari this are lines in config.txt and config64.txt in the batocera boot partition.

A lapdock is not really a laptop ,it doesn’t have motherboard and have a mini hdmi output to connect to a raspberry like a portable monitor, so we can connect a pc, console or even a raspberry to it.

I think i’ve found something to fix the problem here:

but don’t understand where i should create the files or enter the xrandr command to add my monitor edid.

Yko73 Oh, so the computer you’re actually using is a Raspberry Pi? My bad, I should have gleamed that from the topic you had posted this in. It really does look like a bog-standard laptop.

Anyway, I would sooner assume that the issue is related purely to the dock. Probably a driver issue, most likely an issue with Batocera being 64-bit and the driver being 32-bit. If I were you I would inform the manufacturer of the “lapdock”.

In the meantime, it would be worth trying the various things suggested for attachable screens on the wiki: https://wiki.batocera.org/add_tft_screen_rpi_only

The RPi build of Batocera does not use xrandr, in case you were wondering why certain commands aren’t working.
