Hey guys! I’ve been going arround Discord asking this question, searching through official wiki and internet and I still find no solution. My current setup is a Coofun mini PC powered by a AMD Ryzen 3550H and integrated BT/WiFi, but I’ve also tried to make them work with an external dongle (TP Link UB400, supported by Batocera). I’ve been having issues mostly with controllers. I’ve tested this with the following controllers:
- Official Sony’s DualSense
- DS4 clone
- DS3 clone
- Kind-of DS4 clone (not official but not a clone, has similar layout and works in PS4)
- Kind-of DS3 clone (same brand as above) WITH DEDICATED DONGLE
The issues are:
- Controllers and system don’t remember themselves: everytime I restart and besides the DS3 clone with dongle, no controller remembers the PC, even if I try to connect them while enabling pairing. This is kind of annoying because I have to re pair them everytime I start the system. Sometimes, mostly with DualSenses, they do connect but they connect as “PLAYSTATION®3 Controller” and buttons are not mapped nor recognised by Bato. I have a Win11 Z390 AORUS Ultra mobo (using that BT antenna) and controllers re-connects just fine, which makes me think that something is wrong there.
- Some controllers gets disconnected: the one that uses a dedicated dongle gets disconnected every 5s to 20s aprox. which is really weird because it doesn’t go through internal or TP Link BT. On the other side, the non-official ones, get disconnected sometimes in long sessions. The most constant in this is DualSense. My hypothesis for non-official is that internal BT is crap because this doesn’t happens when TP Link dongle is connected.
- Joystick with dongle breaks Bato’s start: if I start system with clone’s dongle connected, home screen is cut at half and it only shows the controller mapping message, and you can’t move from there.
- Input lag in some emulators: I think this might be related with the other issues, but mostly in PS2 where this setup reaches hardly, I get a lot of input lag. Besides PS2, it’s noticable in others demading emulators, but they don’t ruin the experience
In short, I can’t find an optimal configuration for this setup. As I said, I’ve read wikis, guides in YouTube, tried to pair them manually and find same issues. My last option is to use wired controllers but I prefer wirelessly. If I can help providing any other information, just ask.
Thanks in advance!!
