Batocera v. 5.10 and N-Wii not working with generic controllers!!

Hello guys

I updated my v. 5.8 to 5.10 and now I an unable to use my Logitech Cordless RumblePad with the Nintendo Wii emulator, in fact, I cant even use the regular Keyboard anymore, I just want to make sure if this is a new thing now that I will have to use the WiiMote only or is there something that I may be doing wrong or how can I fix this if is possible? Is anyone else having the same problem?. I know the system is working fine cause I can exit the emulator by pressing the key combination I configure on the controller but I can not start the games, and I only have games that are comparable to play with the Wii classic controllers like Super Smash Bros Brawl.

are you talking about virtual wiimote with a normal pad ?

I have same problem here, many games like new super mario needs push a key 2 to start game, but xbox 360 control doesn't have this key.

sorry, i still don't get the point.
can you give me an example of game (or several so that i chhoose) that doesn't work ?
can you confirm that's always the "button 2" issue ?

i tested many games today, all games accepted classic controller work very well, games only accept normal wii controller need a button 2 or A to start game

i've not understand if that 1 or several problem, related to the xbox 360 pad or not.
anyway, i've added in my todo list to test the super mario bros wii game with a virtual wiimote.

Hello nadenislamarre, I normally use an old but good Logitech cordless Rumblepad 2 controller and it works great with almost every emulator on Batocera, the control does not have a Home Key but I configured the R3 button on the right stick as such, however, now when I run any Wii game is not allowing me to use the control to play the game, it lets me use the Home Key combination (Home+B,A,etc) to save state, pause, exit while the game runs, but not to start or play the game. I guess like you mention, it may be something with the Wiimote emulator not working, well at least that was my original issue report in this post. I Hope I was able to explain it better this time, sorry English is my 2nd language.

but you confirm it worked in 5.8 and no more since 5.9 ?

That is correct sir, on 5.9 and 5.10 it stop working for me, the crazy thing is that also my keyboard does not work as a controller for this games either and I know it use to work because when I place a new game on Batocera I always test the game using my keyboard then my controller, the hole thing is very estrange sir.

Just in case you needed, my PC details are:

AsRock Motherboard
AMD A4-4000 Dual Core processor
8GB of RAM
On Board AMD Radeon Graphic card.

I have had almost no issues playing any game for any system using this hardware and Batocera x64 install directly into a 500GB HDD.

hotkey+b doesn't work on the dolphin to enter emulator menu, other options like saving state, load state and restart game work fine, maybe fixing this will help in the manual configuration of the controller, i use select like hotkey, i'll try use other button

Scofield yes exactly, we know the dolphin emulator does not have an in-game menu, but using other hotkey combinations do work and that works for me too, however, the normal use of the controller with in the game does not work either at lease not for me, and that is a real bummer because I was in the middle of a game and I can't longer play 🙁. The super estrange thing for me also is that it work fine for the GameCube games, no problem there and If I'm correct, I think is the same dolphin emulator.

jendrix @nadenislamarre I tested dolphin version 5.0 on windows and had the same problem with button 2

it is related to xbox 360 controller only ? or you reproduce with an other pad ?

my generic controller doesnt work in wii mode, only works with gamecube, i have a ps2 usb generic controller

I use a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2, and PS3 controller, same on both.

Hi everyone, i had this problem and solve it by adding f.write ("Source = 1 \ n") in the generateControllerConfig_any function on the file dolphinControllers.py, in recalbox.conf edit wii.emulatedwiimotes=0 to 1 and run /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh.
