v34 update controls not working?

Confused!

I was running batocera v33 in an arcade cab on a pc, everything running fine.

Just updated to v34

None of the controls are working, after a control remap, only start and select works for player 2, but nothing else?

dont get it.👽

Ok update, for some reason in the controller page the controls had change to 1 and 2.

Changed it back to 0 and 1, i now have controls on player 1, but no joystick control on player 2 only buttons.

Jay I had a similar issue when I upgraded! I was going crazy until I figured it out. Did you have any remaps that did that swap for a specific system? I did and it loaded it for all systems in 34. When I deleted the remaps in:

\\batocera\share\system\.config\retroarch\config\remaps\ (notice the .config)

and then remade them, it worked fine again.

In v34, they get created i a different directory:

\\batocera\share\system\configs\retroarch\config\remaps\ (notice configs with no dot)

You could also try factory resetting, rename system to system-old and reboot. Then configure your controller again. If it all works, then you know the issue is somewhere in your old configuration.

If you’re using a super specific arcade controller setup I would not advise upgrading at all, as no one on the dev team checks for things like that.

All i know is the controllers come up as dragonrise usb 1 and 2, was working fine before, although it was well flakey to get it running in the first place.

ill try these steps and report back.

Ok tried first suggestion, most console emulation seems to be fine, both controls working.

The issue seems to be with MAME, the second controler just does not seem to function, but buttons do?

Works around a quirk in Dragonrise’s USB encoder.

Same issue for my v34 updated batocera.

I have also deleted the system folder to inizialize completely all settings but i have no working directions on player 2, ony buttons work.

My controllers are dragonrise too and i noticed that directions works perfectly on mame, libretro 139 but not on libretro with mame 242.

I havent’t swapped controls but not working directions on second player controller.

Instead buttons are ok.

I might try a test reset up and see if that works?, or back to v33
