Hi there, I hope someone can help, because I am out of ideas.
I’m trying to install Batocera on a Toshiba Satellite P200-16J (Intel Core Duo T2350, Intel GMA 950).
Latest version which starts without problems is 5.26 (also tried all versions down to 5.18 but all with the same problem)
Everythings is working, controllers getting detected and are working in the menu. But no matter what I tried in Emulators I can only play with the default keyboard settings (even if I change the keyboard settings)
At first I thought my Touchpad being detected as gamepad #0 would make problems, but it seems the xserver isn’t running at all as “xinput” returns “Unable to connect to X server”. Should it be like this?
The other suspect thing is like said my touchpad, being detected as device #0 and xbox pad as device #1 (es_log)
2022-07-02 13:49:11 INFO Added unconfigured joystick SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (GUID: 110000000200000007000000b1920000, instance ID: 2, device index: 0).
2022-07-02 13:49:11 INFO Added known joystick Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (instance ID: 3, device index: 1)
While eslaunchstderr detects it as #0:
[INFO] [udev]: Plugged pad: Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (1118:654) on port #0.
[INFO] [udev]: Pad #0 (/dev/input/event6) supports force feedback.
[INFO] [udev]: Pad #0 (/dev/input/event6) supports 16 force feedback effects.
[INFO] [Joypad]: Found joypad driver: "udev".
In Xorg.0.log I get:
[ 10.843] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (/dev /input/event6)
[ 10.843] (**) Microsoft X-Box 360 pad: Ignoring device from InputClass "cont roller"
[ 10.844] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (/dev /input/js0)
[ 10.844] (II) No input driver specified, ignoring this device.
[ 10.844] (II) This device may have been added with another device file.
and when pressing ctrl-alt-F3 I see some errors, but don’t know how to acces the log file:
Obt-Message: Failed to open Input Method
Openbox-Message: X Server does not support locale.
Openbox-Message: Cannot set locale modifiers for the X server.
ERROR CECInput::mAdapter -> DetectAdapters failed
Above are also some messages about “high keycode” from Xkeyboard.
I am currently back to a fresh image of 5.26 and all I did was configure the xbox controller and set it to player 1. Then I started the included SNES donkey kong and as always the controller doesn’t work only default keyboard controls. The game itself works fine.
Would be really happy for some hints and ideas on this problem. For more information/logs, just ask.
Thx in advance.
