syslinux.cfg Bluetooth command

I want my system to initialize Bluetooth discovery at every boot sequence. Can this be done with a line in the syslinux.cfg file and what should it say?

If this is the wrong route can someone please advise me how to go about this?

RetroFuture I manage this through the custom.sh in the userdata folder. Mine looks like that:

#!/bin/bash

If test "$1" != "start"

then

exit 0

fi

(

sleep 10

bluetoothctl connect "MAC adress"

)

Edit: I didn’t read your post carefully. I use this to automatic connect to my bluetooth speaker at boot. I think this should not be necessary for controllers. The command can also be used within the custom.sh.

abaaihd I think your advice solved my issue! I took the command from the site you linked and made it a custom script with both of my controller mac addresses and put it in the system folder. Shut the machine down and started again and both controllers connected immediately.

No, I was mistaken. After unplugging the machine to work on something else and coming back to it the Bluetooth controllers won’t connect. (even with the custom script)

It’s like once the system loses power everything is wiped from the bluetoothctl…

RetroFuture Did you use the controllers on another device during that time? Some audio devices/controllers can’t be paired to several devices at the same time. They have to be paired again when used back on the other device. I have that issue with my Galaxy Buds.

abaaihd no I didn’t, only that machine and that Bluetooth dongle. I do notice something while going through the manual command line Bluetooth configuration, when I type pair “mac address”, I’m given a pin code that’s being issued by the Bluetooth dongle, however there isn’t any way that I’ve found to actually enter the pin code.

I tried make a custom script like the one you shared above, I also attempted a script like the one from the site you linked. Neither seemed to actually make any difference. Once the pc is unplugged or fully loses power, the controllers cannot reconnect by simply pressing the button to wake them.

I appreciate any other insight you or anyone else may have into this. Thank you.

I think I’ve decided it’s the cheapo Bluetooth dongles that I have. They just aren’t being initialized when the system boots.

I have a couple of Cable Matters dongles from Amazon that are working well. Even after the system completely loses power the controllers connect reliably.
