Hi Batocera community,

I recently got Batocera V34 installed. When trying to use a Generic Sony PS3 controller, I get a strange bug:

It works for 1 or 2 seconds, but it automatically disconnects and reconnects as a Microsoft X-Box 360 Pad controller, which is not responding. I changed the batocera.conf file to enable the PS3 driver and selected the 3 different available drivers:

 controllers.ps3.enabled=0

 controllers.ps3.driver=shanwan

I’ve also tried the bluez and official driver, and rebooted the system each time. Also made sure that the other controllers were disabled.

When plugging the controller in Windows, it seems to be respoding right, but I couldn’t make it work in Batocera.

The controller I got is a PS3 Sefitopher. as mentioned, it seems to be recongised by the system 1 second and then automatically disconnected and recongnised as an Xbox joystick.

Did anyone found the same issue and know how to support?

Aleph You have a janky third-party controller that is detecting it is not connected to a PS3 and automatically changing its input mode. There’s not much Batocera can do about that. Use a better controller that doesn’t do that?

There’s a typo in the message above. The set up in the conf file is:

 controllers.ps3.enabled=1

Thanks Atari, so no solution a part from having a better controller, then… Lessons learnt cheap is expensive…

I have the same controller, is it the model number CECHZC2H? Iḿ trying to pair with batocera 5.25 but without sucess.

I even tried changing the conf file as you did but didn’t work. Does yours work with cable connected? Mine won’t

Same as you cefalia, it doesn’t work with or without cable… the model is CECHZC2H A1.

What is funny is that it works for 1 seconf, when the sustem recognises it’s a PS3 controller, but after that it changes to an XBOX controller and it doesn’t work any more… not sure if in future releases it’ll be solved…

Does this controller maybe have different “modes” that can be switched? Like X-Input or D-Input mode

Yes its the same controller, i too noticed on batocera controller settings that was recognising as xbox but didn’t noticed that initially saw as ps3 controller. So there’s no way to use this controller in batocera?

joinski not sure if this controller is having different modes. From the buttons available you cannot select between analogue or digital. Not sure if when connected to Windows, where the controller seems to be working perfectly, something could be changed, though

Cheap PS3 (P3) controllers seem to work but not the real ones.
