2018 Mac Mini Install to internal Drive

I have a 2018 Mac mini. Core i3, 8 gig of ram, Intel 630 integrated graphics.

Has anyone had any success installing it to the internal hard drive. I’ve gone through the usual documentation without success.

I can boot into Batocera via the USB but when I try to install I get the message, “an error occurred : check the system/logs directory"

Restoring the image to the HDD via Ubuntu “Disk” utility or Etcher also does not work. The Mac will not boot.

Atari

Older Macs are generally friendlier to booting alternative operating systems. Newer ones have more “safeguards” in play that usually result in an unbootable system.

Not much I can do personally to help but there have been some users on the Discord server experimenting around with booting Batocera on older Macs. You might want to check that out.

Same for me. unable to install on ssd.

Or at least I can instal but can’t boot.
