Add a cronjob to turn off device at a given time

Hi,

I would like to add a cronjob to turn off Batocera (actually the whole system so shutdown -h now) at a given time.

However, it doesn’t seem to work, plus, the file I add in /etc/cron.d gets deleted at each reboot.

I’ve search on the wiki and on the forum but could find an answer. How could I achieve this?

What about editing the /etc/crontab file directy

or the user root crontab with “crontab -e -u root” ?

I did create a custom.sh that do the trick. But I’d prefer a cronjob.

However, adding a command in /etc/crontab doesn’t seem to work. And when I try crontab -l I have this message crontab: can't change directory to '/var/spool/cron/crontabs': No such file or directory

Is that disabled?

cronjob is not available in Batocera, as far as I know.

If someone wants to do that someday, here is how I managed. I added the custom.sh as explained in https://wiki.batocera.org/launch_a_script

while true; do
    currenthour=$(date +%k%M)
    if [ $currenthour -eq 2355 ]; then
        shutdown -h now
    fi
    sleep 30
done

Where 2355 is the hour I want the device to shutdown (so 23h55 here)
