My test system:
Athlon II x4 635 (2.9Ghz - 4 cores) / nVidia GTS 450 / 8GB Ram
When I load 5.26, PCSX2 works fine. I can go into applications and click on the config for it and it works.
When I load v34 - it no longer works. The pcsx2 config (in applications) will not run if I click on it. I have seen others have this problem. v34 works fine for me with the Nouveau drivers - I can play all games from ps1/gamecube/dreamcast era and earlier just fine.
I tried changing the nvidia driver setting in the boot config to true, legacy, and legacy390 and nothing works. I just get a black screen - no batocera boot logos. It looks like its “loading” because the hard drive lights ups like on a normal boot. No video, no sound. I tried to change displays - DVI monitor - HDMI tv (which I normally run on) - nothing. Same thing happens when switching to beta 35.
I know my test system & video is old as dirt, but if 5.26’s pcsx2 fully works and runs ps2 games - why can’t 34?
I would stick with 5.26 but I cannot get audio out from the HDMI.
Is there any guidance anyone can give me? I know my system can’t handle any later emus, but if I can just get this to play ps2 games in addition to all the other old games I have - that would be perfect.
