@mrmisery The last time I checked, Batocera was working fine with the X96 max plus. However, with these boxes sometimes the manufacturers stuff in components which aren’t what they specified on the list, which causes issues like this to arise.
First, make sure you’ve held down the button inside of the headphone jack while booting to make sure the bootloader unlocks. Let it do its thing, then reboot again. I’ve had it successfully boot using the default dtb, so no editing of the boot files should be required.
There also seems to be a chance that the X96’s bootloader fails and chooses to boot into its Android firmware instead of Batocera on the SD card. Trying repeatedly should eventually make it work. I’ve heard from others that this can be bypassed by flashing Batocera to a USB stick instead of the SD card.
g12345567 I know Batocera 34 stable was released with a few bugs like video card that caused some systems not to boot or start Batocera.
