LivyathanX Hello, recently I started a project of a mame emulator, downloaded a full romset, and change the name of a lot of roms (all of them zip) and now they dont work, the emulator doesnt open it, why? how can i repair them?
fonzi LivyathanX Ah yes. You cannot change the names of arcade roms or you will run into problems.I learned that as well many years back. If you are worried about the names of mame roms once you scrape for artwork and the gamelist XML file is created you will see their correct names. So rather than name them back to how to they were (which you would be difficult) you are probably best off starting again as Atari said.
Atari I downloaded a program I wanted to run. I went into its data folder and renamed a bunch of its files manually. Now, when I start the program it does not work, complaining about missing data files! ^ This is you. Try again from the start, don’t rename anything.
