Maybe I'm crazy...(usually when it begins like this, I am crazy). but I'm noticing some strange things with the Batocera 5.10 revision. But a disclaimer: this is also the first time I'm trying it from a 7200 RPM HDD instead of a SSD.
Whenever I'm playing fast-twitch games (think Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Sonic, etc.), I notice a certain, but perceptible input lag between my controller and the reaction on the screen. I thought it was just me, but then, I also happen to have my XU4 Batocera unit fired up right beside my x64 one, and it doesn't seem to have that same input lag issue. Reactions to my controller inputs seem near-instantaneous (like the should be), but with a 7200 RPM HDD, would that cause a slight delay due to the I/O of the HDD? Should I replace the 1 TB HDD with a 256 GB SSD and take the hit as far as the room is concerned? Should I switch to a USB 3.0 External HDD to compensate for the input lag coming from the HDD? I'm not sure if it's just me on this one, but any feedback would be useful.
Just want some verification on this one. I'm going to continue to research it some more on my own.
