@d3m0n1q_733rz don't hesitate to make a pr if your tests are satisfaisant.
buildroot version is from the 1st september, no so out of date even if it can be better of course.
i may update it however while the memeka kodi patches doesn't work on kodi 17.3, upgrading buildroot and thus kodi to 17.6 is probably the easiest way to fix.

I've managed to discover a good number of bugs with some of the software that gets compiled. Freeimage has a narrowing error, there's a language error, and something about using swpb instead of strex or sync. I'm tracking them down as I go and trying to make the code able to be properly compiled.

@nadenislamarre I just tried again reicast and I did not notice any audio bug, (tested with crazy taxy, jet set radio), psp doesnt work

michel83 maybe i have something wrong with my configuration.
can you confirm :
1) you started from a clean image (the image special17)
2) you just copied reicst bios files + games ?
3) can you give me the list and the checksum of your files

maybe thanks to you i can reproduce the working way on my computer to find the issue.
can somebody else confirm that the sound is hashed or work with my image ?

Reicast would require being built with the -DUSE_PULSEAUDIO option. As for uClibC, I'm working on getting a bug fixed before it can be used properly.
As I said before, a number of these applications have bugs for ARM, but they only become apparent when compiling for newer processors.
Once I get a few of them knocked out, it should be fairly easy.

i've compiled and made pulseaudio working.
i get some application working correctly, for example, mplayer -ao pulse, but in reicast, the sound is still hashed. thus, it's something else.
i'm searching....

@michel83 interesting that you don't get that.
@memeka, can you test or give me your reicast binary, so that i test it directly on batocera to see if it comes from my system configuration or the reicast binary (it may come from gcc version, a lib, ...)

for ffmpeg you need "--enable-v4l2_m2m" (https://github.com/mihailescu2m/FFmpeg/blob/b46da3a5dfeec7da25b1cefef423491d94adb6ef/debian/rules has the compile flags used in Ubuntu)

EDIT: don't have reicast compiled atm (deleted it for lack of space) but make sure there is no /etc/asound.conf with pulse...

@nadenislamarre i confirm that i m started from a clean image special17, i have just copied bios files, i have test with 2 differents bios and i have not any audio problems. for me, on fba the game 'outrun' is working with hached sound. i will send you my files. also when i connect my usb joystick, libretto menu doesn't work, i must reconnect my joystick. but if i use a another wireless joystick, i dont have this problem. thanks

@memeka i understand that you patches ffmpeg so that it works better too ?
i will take time on kodi just after the sound issue while i think that kodi will not be a problem, just time to take.

You can probably use mainline ffmpeg.
I have a patch that fixes a crash when releasing the decoder, and some patches for the encoder. So nothing really important...

nice, i've found, not precisely, but i've found something.
i buy a small tv to work. This happend in fact only on this tv.
I've tried with an other tv, i've no more problem.
i'm burning a 5.11 version to test if the previous version had the same issue.
so many hours lost on that issue... at least, i know more about pulseaudio now...

ok, same bug in the previous batocera version. so, it's not a regression.
psp is slow, but it was slow in the previous version too. i remember it was ok, but perhaps i'm wrong or it depends on the game.
i will make a new beta tonight with psp working.

2 possibilities :

or you just unzip boot.tar.xz on your sdcard/emmc
or you run from ssh : /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-upgrade.sh https://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/special18

i think that automatic upgrade from 5.11 should work too, but it's to be tested while i changed the boot files (manual, ie, unzip boot.tar.gz works).

es sound issue fixed. it's not a sound issue in fact, but build dependancy issue. should be ok for the next beta.

for kodi, the easiest way i think is to upgrade buildroot to be in kodi 17.6 to get memeka patch applied easyly.
let's upgrade buildroot first...
