Wifi problem (does not connect, change the password)

Hello friends, I tell you my problem to see if someone can help me. I have put the latest version of batocera through a sd memory of 32 gb this for my raspberry PI 3.0, all perfect except that it is impossible to operate the wifi, never connect and every time the system is restarted it changes the password of the wifi that has stored for a long and strange with different characters to those that I enter ... some solution? Thank you!

markez999 I had the same issue to finally figure out the wireless wifi card on my laptop isn't supported by linux. Once plugging the ethernet cable it worked instantly.

joinski I had the SSID with only letters and numbers.

Try to rename your WiFi SSID to a name without special characters (no "-" or "_" or for example, best a simple name like "mywifi" or something like that).
Do the same for the password.
For me that worked.

G22 but he uses a Pi3 and the build-in wifi is definitely supported by linux

it seems that the wpa wifi doesn't work (wpa2 must be used).
i think i can fix it, i just need to take time on it. but it's in my todo list.

My friends, thank you for your recommendations but I've done everything including what they say to me and nothing, nadenislamarre amigo do you think it takes a long time to correct this ruling? finally I thought we were going to enjoy a perfect system with batocera to include the direct configuration of the wifi in the raspberry pi but they fixed a detail and undefigured something very important as it is the wifi 🙁

on the web chat, genetik57 resolved by changing the router configuration from 40Mhz to 20Mhz while it seems that the rpi3 is not compatible in some circumstances.
Can you confirm that an other system, like ubuntu or retropie works on your rpi3 with the same router ?

nadenislamarre i have only the batocera linux Card, it is the best system ! .... i can test tonight changing the password, the channel ant the automatic to 20Mhz or 40Mhz to verify .... ( my config is automatic in all settings)

Genetik57 Thanks friend, i will try it tonight ! ...im my case, my router has 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz simultaneously ...the SSID of wi-fi has Wi-fi (for 2.4Ghz) and wi-fi_5G (for 5Ghz) ....

my passwors has an "@" and i will try to retire this caracter too ..... maybe the special caracter has no compatible with batocera system ....i not understand

In the first time, the Raspberry Pi 3 does not support the frequency 5 Ghz. Only 2.4 Ghz frequencies. On the other hand it supports the frequency 2.4 Ghz as well as the bandwidths 20 Mhz and 40 Mhz. But, I discovered that the wifi connection does not work when the bandwidth is 40 Mhz. It only works with 2.4 Ghz frequency and 20 Mhz bandwidth (for the moment)

We do not know if it's a system bug or if it's a hardware bug from Raspberry
