Need help configuring joystick & installing games

After a lot of research, effort and a few ruined USB drives, I finally managed to install Batocera on my old HP laptop.
But I really struggle to understand and follow instructions to configuring the arcade joystick I bought and also downloading and installing games (some Arcade and some Amiga).
Is there any kindly soul who would be willing to do a video call with me and guide me?
I’m guessing it would be quite quick for someone who knows what they are doing so maybe 30 mins but possibly longer.
I’m happy to pay $20 for the help whether it takes 30 minutes or longer so if it helps someone else out then that’s a mutual benefit I’m happy for.
We could connect on whatsapp and I can point my phone camera at my laptop screen or we could use Discord for the same.

stevo7181 Yeah, the problem is that whenever I try to follow a guide, it’s usually only two or three steps in before the menu example of the guide I’m following doesn’t match what I see on mine then I get lost.
Pity there isn’t an experienced Batocera guy on Fiverr who I could just hire to help me through the set up.

New users are recommended to read the getting started guide in the documentation: https://wiki.batocera.org/getting_started
Following video guides is okay too, but they usually get outdated quickly (as you have seen) and fall out of relevancy.
If you’re struggling at any point, you can join the Discord server and ask your questions there. You might even get someone willing to jump into a voice call to help you out.
