Best GPU that not breaks my bank account

Hello,

I have a great batocera pc, it’s a dell optiplex 3020 sff with a Intel® Core™ i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz and 4GB ram.

i can playa lot emulators like the ps2, ps1 wii, gamecube,… but when i try to launch a windows, a ps3, wiiu it will crash instand. I did found out that the vulcan drive for the intel chip is buggy.

What is the best gpu that i can put into that thing so it can play ps3 and not make me broke?
(maybe a sff device was not the best)

rpcs3 is more cpu demanding than gpu demanding and with a chip that weak you’re not going to be getting full speed in most ps3 games. Maybe some of the easier ones.

But if you want to pursue that anyway then any modern low profile card should do the trick while not being too expensive. The entire point of low profile cards are to be cheap, you literally cannot find “high end” ones.

It can be sad to hear this but if you truly want to run PS3 games then you’d need a relatively modern 6-core CPU. You can check RPCS3’s recommended requirements: https://rpcs3.net/quickstart

@Atari it was not intended to play my ps3 games but i did plugin a GTX1050 ti (with rizer) into the motherboard and it did run smooth. But the emulation that uses vulcan crash, the vulcan api is buggy on the CPU. Even pinball hash glitches.

christophe195 it’s funny you mention that, I do have a similar SSF unit with a GTX 750Ti at my friend’s house. I tested PS3 with it and it works perfectly fine on all the default settings.

Could you try resetting to the factory defaults?

As I suggest previously, nvidia (quadro) T600 and T400 are great added values lowprofile (no PSU plug needed) low watt needed.

You can find it near 140€ and 80€.

The first one has performance near a 1050Ti.

Can play up to wii without issues.

I need to retry PS3 emulator but I haven’t got a digital controller. :/

When I tested God of War 3, it wasn’t running that fine. :/ with a i7 4790…. so I assume my CPU is not enough and also my GPU…

So to me you need at least 200€ to find GPU to run PS3 smoothly and a possible greater CPU.

you’d better try to find another SFF :/
