How to get roms on an external hard drive?

I'm using Batocera Computer 32-Bit version. I have a 500GB internal hard drive but there's not enough space for my complete romset of PSX, Sega CD, Dreamcast, etc. Is there a way to have these big roms collection outside on an external hard drive?

yes, you can use the menu/system/storage and choose an external hard drive.

Hi,
I have updated my pc x64 to last version of Batocera 5.23 (by the way, I love it), also I have changed my USB with roms that I had in a NAS Qnap to a NAS Synology.
In Qnap I didn't have problem to connect through smb1, but in Synology I can't connect at any way, I have followed the tutorial:

I have tried through by nfs and It didn't connect.
Any idea?

Pretty good to know this! I also noticed that the roms on the internal hard drive are still there. I haven't tried yet the external hard drive but it seems I could have roms both on the internal and external hard drive?

Do I just copy/paste the directory structure on the external drive and it'll recognize automatically?

when you boot with the drive set, the directory is automatically created at the top of the directory.

Just tried it on rpi3 and the rom folders aren't created on the external HDD.

Any ideas? I tried NTFS and ExFat. Both doesn't work.

After trying other stuff while rebooting a few time, it worked. So this seems a bit broken.

I have another question. If I plug my hard drive with all my roms on another batocera system. Will they show up? Or I have to copy 2 tb of roms everytime?

in relation to this, is it possible to have part of the ROMS internally on the SD and just e.g. PSX and Dreamcast on external?
